Easter Season Morning Prayer for the Sunday before Ascension Day

O Lord, open our lips and our mouth shall proclaim your praise. In your resurrection, O Christ, let heaven and earth rejoice. Alleluia. Blessed are you, Lord God of our salvation, to you be praise and glory for ever. As once you ransomed your people from Egypt and led them to freedom in the promised land, so now you have delivered us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of your risen Son. May we, the first fruits of your new creation, rejoice in this new day you have made, and praise you for your mighty acts. Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Blessed be God for ever. Come, Holy Spirit of God, and search our hearts with the light of Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ said: The first commandment is this: ‘ Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is the only Lord. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘...

Psalm 98 verses 1-4

1 Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvellous things. 2 His own right hand and his holy arm have won for him the victory. 3 The Lord has made known his salvation; his deliverance has he openly shown in the sight of the nations. 4 He has remembered his mercy and faithfulness towards the house of Israel, and all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Psalm 133

Psalm 133 1 Behold how good and pleasant it is to dwell together in unity. 2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down upon the beard, 3 Even on Aaron’s beard, running down upon the collar of his clothing. 4 It is like the dew of Hermon running down upon the hills of Zion. 5 For there the Lord has promised his blessing: even life for evermore.

Psalm 19 for Sunday 7th March 2021

1The heavens are telling the glory of God and the firmament proclaims his handiwork. 2One day pours out its song to another and one night unfolds knowledge to another. 3They have neither speech nor language and their voices are not heard, 4Yet their sound has gone out into all lands and their words to the ends of the world. 5In them has he set a tabernacle for the sun that comes forth as a bridegroom out of his chamber and rejoices as a champion to run his course. 6It goes forth from the end of the heavens and runs to the very end again and there is nothing hidden from its heat 7The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure and gives wisdom to the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right and rejoice the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure and gives light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean and endures for ever; the judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to...
